Seagate has finally joined Hitachi and other hard drive manufacturers with the release of two new 1 terabyte hard drives that will be added to its Barracuda hard drives. The two drives are the 7200.11 (for consumers) and the ES.2 (for business usage).
The said drives will be available sometime in the third quarter of this year with the consumer hard drive to be sold for $399, which is at the same price point as Hitachi’s 1 terabyte Deskstar 7K1000.
Seagate has already shipped about 42 million drives with 34 million of the drives being from the Barracuda desktop 7200.11 family. |
