What do you get when you combine Google News, Digg, Wikipedia and Technorati? Well, you actually get one big Thoof. If you are going – huh? I guess I should explain. Thoof is a cool new personalized news system which allows users to read various news items from around the web aggregated to one site. It’s really useful since you can find just the articles you want on the topics you are interested in all in one place without having to hop from site to site and dig through them to find stuff that interest you.
The people at Thoof have added some great features which really make them stand apart from similar services online. For one thing they incorporated a wikipedia style system where you can update the title and description of an article if you think it doesn’t properly reflect the content on the site. It is easy to find what you want using the site’s great tagging system. Another great feature is their Thoof Rank system. You can see a site’s Thoof Rank by viewing the Thoof badge on their site. The Thoof badge will display a percentage which represents the percentage of people who viewed the site’s articles interesting in reference to the other articles in their category. A figure above 50% means that the articles are above average and the higher the score the better.
