People prefer to have a choice and not to have to conform to whatever was chosen for them. This is as true for domain names as it may be for more important aspects in life. Nevertheless, it is important for one to choose the domain name of their liking. There will be more flexibility in the matter sometime soon, since two proposals on the issue are being discussed. One proposal is that the domain name will be allowed to contain other characters besides Latin ones including Arabic and Chinese letters. The proposal is that the domain name may contain any combination of numbers and letters, as long as it does not exceed 64 characters. This also will mean that individuals will have the freedom to choose whether they will be .com, .org, or .sex, if that is their wish.
